The many Bible translation projects going on throughout the continent have needs that churches and individuals can meet:
- They need prayer and encouragement.
- They need funding.
- They sometimes need short-term workers for specific projects.
- They need advocates.
Successful language projects have people standing behind them in all of these ways. Yet projects can sputter and fizzle out without this kind of support.
This is where “adopt a project” comes in. If a church decides to focus its energy on a specific language project, it’s not only the project that benefits. We have found that churches feel more connected and enabled to help Bible translation if they are personally involved in a project. Adopting a project can help a church form relationships with the missionaries in the project and see the results of its work. The church can assist in short-term projects and help in tangible, direct ways. If your church would like to adopt a Bible translation project, please contact us.
